Detailed Development works and Dam Design Review at Wadi Darbat in Dhofar, and Construction the Scheme

The Wadi Darbat Dam project is located approximately 35 km from Salalah. The project is intended to provide water to the existing pools in wadi Darbat and to operate the waterfall for 3 months in addition to providing beautification works to enhance tourist access. The work comprises: A storage dam upstream of the main Waterfall, Pumpstation and associated pipe work to convey water to the waterfall, upgrading of the access to Ghidat springs, beautification works at Ghidat springs and parking facilities and beautification works at the main falls
1) Renardet reviewed the existing tender design and revised the dam design to ensure the stability of the structure and safe conveyance of flood water
2) Geotechnical interpretation of the previous design indicated shortcomings requiring additional investigations
3) Renardet staff designed access roads and parking areas at Ghidat springs and at the main waterfall
4) In addition the pumps station and pipework capable of conveying 2000 l/sec was designed
5) Preparation of preliminary, final design and tender documents
